What is CEJILA?

Care Experienced Justice Impacted Lawyers Association ('CEJILA') is an initiative aimed at fostering diversity within the legal profession.

CEJILA acknowledges the profound impact that systemic discrimination and stigma has on individuals pursuing a legal career. This contributes to the underrepresentation of diverse voices within our profession.

CEJILA supports lawyers who have faced statutory intervention or exposure to the criminal justice system during their formative years. These people continue to face systemic barriers to further education and employment opportunities, with elite professions such as the law being no exception.

CEJILA seeks to change this.
